How A Conveyor Motor Works
A conveyor motor is commonly used in pizza oven applications. The motor is generally gear driven and controlled by DC voltage. The reason a DC voltage motor is used is it tends to have a more consistant turning ratio compared to a AC motor. When a conveyor motor fails it usually fails in a few ways.
1) Stops Completely - Conveyor belt not moving
2) Conveyor jumping or eratic speeds. The voltage supplying the conveyor motor should be checked.
3) Brushes that supply voltage to the stator are worn out or broken causing motor not to turn.
