Heating elements in the commercial food industry are designed to do just that ... "Get Hot!" Commonly used on ovens, food warmers, griddles, food wells, steamers, and toasters etc .. the goal is to get a food product or liquid up to a desired temperature. When a heating element fails, it will usually fail in the following ways: 1. Element Burn out, or in technical terms, element no longer has resistance, rendering it unable to heat anything 2. Wire connection burn out; no longer being able to hook up a good connection to supply power to the element 3. Element breakage, causing a direct short to ground.
